S.B.O fishing trip....

I want everyone To try to be there at 5am with a 530am departure... I hear there are some nice bass being caught, I just gotta find out where... Im going searching Thursday night

i thought the drum bit the best at night swabby i may be wrong i know u know the area better than i do :study:

Lately they have been biting all the time...Ive heard rumors of some nice bass being caught on the incoming during the day.... I'll fish as long as guys want! 530 till whenever... I would have no problem overnighting, but the boss doesnt like sleepovers :suspect:

The bite has pretty much been good all day when the tides moving good.... I was gonna try to find us some bass to catch also.... Im good for what ever time you guys wanna go!

As of right now, the weather is looking great... Good grilling weather! But, the weatherman can always change his mind :evil:

Fished last night.... Was hoping for ideal conditions, but we didnt see them. We caught a bunch of dog sharks, which I contribute to the lack of a good moving tide. We had a few run offs which were mostly likely bass, we hooked a nice one up, got her to the side of the boat, and YEP, it was a NICE 38-40" bass and she was fat, 2 seconds before we got her in the net........ She spit the hook!!!!! :suspect: :evil: :evil: :evil: I was pissed. I think the lack of hard running tide caused them not to bite as well, and thats why there was an abundance of doggies out.... The weather was atleast nice, and I have a general idea where the bass are.... On a side note, there were 17 drum to 85 pounds brought back to the marina lastnight.... We should have good weekend!

I'll bring the snacks (Pretzels, chips) and desserts (cookies, brownies, Krispy Kremes, etc). Some sodas, etc.
Does anyone have a preference? I was thinking pretzel rods, doritos, fritos, and tater chips, what else?

How about instead of chips and such we have peperoni and sharp provalone for snacks???I think I'm gonna bring some meat and cheese stuff as well as some marinated chicken.Can somebody bring like patatoe salad??????

Pretzels are a must! Pepperoni and provolone don't soak up enough beer! Instead of the marinated chicken I would suggest a large bucket of the new Kentucky Grilled Chicken or even a couple of Costco rotissiere chickens. I know I'm not cooking while I can be fishing! I'm not going out there to get a home cooked gourmet meal. KFC or Mike's Subs are easier to eat with a rod in your hands. That is unless your bringing along your personal cook and waitress FC.

Kev I cook for myself,I usually serve myself too.To me this was gonna be more than just a fishin trip.It was the first SBO outing set up on the board.Don't get me wrong I wanna fish,but was lookin forwad to meeting those I haven't and seeing those I haven't seen,and hangin.Well there it is.

FC knows whats up! When I go fishing, I try to enjoy myself the best I can, and that includes eating well! I usually dont get too crazy on inshore trips, but when we go offshore, I look at it like its a vacation, Im gonna damn well enjoy myself. Scallops wrapped in thick sliced bacon, filet, fresh chip meat for awesome cheesteak lunches, hot wings, you name it, and we've prolly eaten it out there

cant wait till sat lol really looking forward to this.........

That's cool FC, I'm looking forward to hanging and fishing with you guys as well. I just know me and I'll want to have a rod in my hand the whole time I'm out there. But if you're cooking I'm eating.

We'll be doing a lot of deadsticking, unless we find the fish are biting light, especially for the drum.... It gets tough when 6 guys all got rods in their hands :affraid: LOL

Weather is still looking really good, a front may be passing through saturday night, but they are still calling for S winds less than 10 knots and seas 1-2 feet. regardless, by night, we'll be fishing a mile off the beach and sheltered from the S. winds

Yo Swab I've had some good reports from the bay.A good friend caught fish to 75lbs last Sat/Sun he said the fished the pinnacle???Or Pin top maybe??Another caught well into the week where I don't know yet but he'll be out sat and said I couild call him to check up!!Had a question about rig's.I always tie my own gear and was wondering what you go with,Me I would use a FF and like a 7-9 Circle 50 lb mono leader main line is 40lb braid??How bout you???I know you've got equipment but I'd like to bring my rod if thats cool.I was also wondering if you've got spinning tackle case we see some bass on top after the bunker???Finally what time will you be at the boat????

Hey FC, sorry for the late comeback. Yep, a FF, to a swivel, 18-24" of 40-50# flouro for drum and 36" for bass, to a 7/0-8/0 gami octopus hook.... I havent converted to the circle club yet.
