Fish Hawk Report 7/17

Sat- The plan was to hit the wrecks for tog in am with the outgoing,and switch to drum for the incoming. Got a late start,wanted to be on the water by 7, but had to replace reg stickers, and few other minor things. Got out on the water by 9ish,headed over to the Del side and tried to get on top of the wreck. Very little current,we arrived just at the end of the outgoing...to late. Messed around with a few junk fish and then headed back over to Nj side and setup for drum.Arrived and few boats were in the area drifting for the flat fish. We setup and it didnt take long and had 3 drum in the box with in 10 mins! Thought it was gonna be hot and heavy,well soon as everyone around us saw us hook up they all ran over like they were gonna be able to get on the bite. They didnt,and the bite shut down as quick as it started. The boats eventually moved out one by one. Two other boats came in and joined us on the hook. It was pretty funny with the one boat,they would hook up with a drum,and SNAP!!!They must of lost 3 or 4 fish maybe more. The other boat was just sitting and not doing much. Finally the one boat that was having tackle problems gets there stuff in order and they start landing drum. After a hour they limited out and moved out. Durring that hour,our anchor had come undone and we drifted off alittle. After a quick reset and fresh bait we were back on the bite.
We had the fish slayer Tristain with us again and he banged the drum 5x's. Riss banged 3, and yup I got one Very Happy
