Re: FISHING REPORTS...
Fished LBI with SIC wit it last night. Did alot of scouting, drove 5 minutes, made a turn n checked a street out. Plugged each spot with no takers. Water was dirty last night, I know the tide was out but everything was all mucked up.

Re: FISHING REPORTS...
yeah, last night was an attitude adjustment trip for one of us and a scouting trip for the other. wasn't very optimistic about last night with the combination of honkin offshore winds, low tide, and what was a very very bright moon. but it was actually quite to get out and feel that cold soak in a lil for the first time of the year. won't be long now

Re: FISHING REPORTS...
Fished lavalette to SSH tuesday into wednesday. nothing on the night tides. But at sunrise it came alive. wolf packs of decent size bass were cruising right through the wash slurping up sand eels. Hard to get bit but I got a 30" 8.8lb to hit a metal lip on the surface and my buddy pulled 2 28.5" on an ava/teaser combo. Also pulled a 8lb blue on a popper
saw alot of good sized fish pushing the 20# class, saw 2 other bass landed, both shorts.

Re: FISHING REPORTS...
Fished SSH-SSP last night with my buddy
Got down at low tide, threw plugs for a little, my friend hit a herring we kept for chunkin. looked around for a spot with good water to chunk but couldn't find much so we went to our fav. pluggin spot to get some sleep and plug the higher water. I couldn't sleep so around 1130 i suited back up. water looked great with alot of white water from the E wind. Hit my first fish in about 15 min, little 16"-18", couple of bumps over the next hr but nothing came tight. around 145 i finally converted a bump into a nice 27 3/4" made another cast and got bumped so I had to go wake my buddy up. We had a good bite for the next 2 hrs. at the hottest point it was atleast a hit a cast , once the tide turned it slowed so we moved to chunk bait for the outgoing. Bunker and herring chunks, I only had one half hearted bump but my friend had 2 nice run-off's before he switched to a bigger hook, of course he didn't get another hit on the pole but did hit a nice 30" bass on a chunk.
Best night of the fall so far
Final tally little over 20 Bass and 3x's that many hits from 16-30in on needles, ava's and teasers, 4 over 28" one more 30" on a chunk

Re: FISHING REPORTS...
Hit another 15 bass last night/this morning in the SSH area. Most fish were caught on the incoming tide. Ava's, Needles, and Teasers did the trick. 1 keeper the rest were cookie cutter 26-27

Re: FISHING REPORTS...
FINALLY, 1st bass from the surf this fall. started late (around noon sunday) hit the park. hit all the holes from A23 to the bathing beaches with jig and teaser combo. NADA saw nothing either. went south of 23 and found a spot that looked fishy. set up 2 clam rods and waited about 2 hrs. line starts to go sideways i thought this is it pull tight and it feels like a trash bag. no fight nothing. pull in what winds up being one of many skates. well after that blitz is over i have a lull in the skate action so i grab a plugging rod. first cast i hear this faint buzzing sound look over my shoulder and one of my bait rods is screaming. i run up and grab it come tight to a nice fat 26 1/2 " striper. felt bigger but oh well. broke the skunk. nice day and plenty of room as the weather kept alot of people away. better days coming.

Re: FISHING REPORTS...
haven't posted a report on here in a long time: fishing has been excellent. enough said. kept a few to make fish cakes to freeze for the long winter. good mix of bass and blues last evening. seemed to have went off mid afternoon as most were leaving an hour before sunrise with fish in tow. i had a couple bass and a couple blues as it was getting dark. most fish have been hitting sand eels teasers that i have tied and gulp sandeels in chartruese when the water is really stirred up. i have been having the most luck with a black back over chrome SS needle and switched over as light was almost gone. made a long cast to avoid the 3# blues that were sitting on the edge of the sandbar i was wading out on and began to crank. just as the line came tight i was on. fish began throwing water and "jumping" to the north. just a day or so ago i had a similar bluefish that went 12# or so and kept thinking "please don't eat this teaser....i've caught over 30 fish on it in past days" . so the fight went on. head shaking. a few good runs and again some topwater splashes. i could feel the teeth almost rubbing the leader. as it was nearing the bar i began to work it in with the waves and finally got it slid into an area were i could unhook it. what little light that was left lit up enough of the fish to see stripes! fish went around 37" and was every bit in the high teens by how thick its shoulders were. unhooked and worked for a second in the wash and off she went. i would have bet my car that the fish was a bluefish the whole way in. pretty funny fight and nice to watch swim off.
