Hey fellas, we still need two guys for the first annual SBO tuna trip! I would like to offer to you guys first before I fill it!

OC, The price is 325$, Depending on fuel. Unless we see fuel prices go higher than 3.25-3.50 a gallon, the price wont change, but I dont think we will see a huge jump right away.

The cost will not budge from 325$ even thought fuel decided to jump almost 50 cents in the last three weeks. I hope for my sake it dosnt go up too much more in the next 3 weeks!

158 pounder caught there on the 20th.... weathers been bad and getting worse, so I wont have any reports till I get out and make some :..............

Gone fishing.... wont be around till Thursday evening..... Tuna time!

We did a double overnight, worked every portion of the Hambone, chicken bone, down to the south paw over to the dog and sausages.... We did mark fish occasionally on the bottom feeding on sandeels. But for the most part, there werent too many fish to be had, water temps inside the 30 line were 67.5-68.5.

The next day we worked the same area again before running out to the poormans. We worked a small area on the 200 fathom curve, we ended up going 1 for 10 on yellowfin. The one being a 30" keeper. They bit everything from bally's to spreader bars, but just couldnt find the steel.
The water was a decent blue and 69*..... We worked our way out to the 500 curve, only to find dirty water and nothing going on.

We ran back inside the 30 lines for the night and worked a large pod of porpoises onl to have what I believe to have been a decent size Tuna to come up and crush a ballyhoo, once again not finding the steel.

Thursday morning we decided to work the bones up to masseys then the 19 lump before running for home. We ran into some thick fog banks around the masseys area. Nothing good was happening around masseys, did mark a few fish..... Somewhere between masseys and 19 we found a large group of tuna on the bottom feeding on sandeels, we pulled our trolling gear and jigged. We hooked a NICE size fish as it pulled a good amount of drag fair quickly.... Terminal tackle failure. Another lost fish.


Overall we didnt catch too many fish, but we had a good time being out there. There are some fish scattered thoughout the southern lumps, a few more weeks and the action should be better.

The boat ran good, and we all came home back in one piece.

We'll be back at it again in no time.
