First Trip of 2009

OK I was debating on going out on Friday or next Tuesday. Friday's weather looks nicer with mostly sun and warmer temps but the wind will be south or SW and the seas are looking like 2-3 ft.. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain but the winds will be ENE and the seas will be 1-2.
I'm leaning toward Tuesday because the ENE wind will bring some warmer water and the clouds may make it more fishy. Who agrees and who disagrees?
Anyone else going out the Squan inlet on Tuesday?

i would take my grandmother out in 2-3's so i wouldnt think that was an issue. having a weather report stay the same from now until next tuesday would be worth writing about. my only thought would be that after a full weekend of boaters pounding the water it might be better to hit it sooner than later......just my thoughts

Kevn my buddie has been in touch with you already. i'm off next week and we will be out at least 1 time together. maybe sun or mon early and back in by 10am before the yahoos get out. if the temps come up it should open up real soon. also at least once next week. not sure what your running but 2-3's is easy out of manasquan. if we get out let me know what your boat name is and we'll give you a shout. also hoping to get the 975 by the weekend jonesing to use it. sorry but to answer your question tuesday would be my choice. less traffic and should be more bunker schools on top if the temps stay up. also a day on the water is a day of fun no matter what.

Yeah I am not concerned about 2-3s. I'm in a 27 foot Grady and I've been out there in 7-8s. I was more concerned with the wind direction. I think Tuesday as well, I'd rather fish a ENE then a WSW. Come Monday afternoon all the crazies will be packing up and things should settle down for Tuesday morning. I also need some preparation time to get the electronics all hooked up again so I figure I'll drive down Monday afternoon and sleep on the boat. My Boat is A-OK and I'm usually on 65.

when i ask what the plan is he usually tells me i cant handle the plan. i have an idea where he was going but once he breaks the inlet that might change. he's probobly releasing already. he has a gift you know.

Kev and Dozer...so how did you guys make out? From the reports seems like saturday was a good bass day with schools of large fish. I was out fluking saturday with no luck out of PP. Went yesterday on the Angler out of AH and caught about 20-30 flatties with one large keeper being lost boatside. Still a good day of fishing.

went out monday evening and it was unreal. bass hitting bunker as soon as it hit the water up to 45 lbs. we got a special treat as we had a whale breech about 20 ft from the boat. my daughter got some pictures we sent them to grayarea he will post them up. heres my daughter with her first keeper.
