Reports?

why is there no constant reports on this website??..were supposed to be a family here, but noone really lets others know how they are doing.

Unfortunately I have nothing to report.

And this week is a no go as well. My boat is in and waiting!

Looks like Brigantine exploded this week with keeper bass from the surf. Also drum and some weakies...for me??? Sharks...nice size ones, but sharks none the less...

Here is what I saw today,, I didn't fish but stopped at beach on way in to work,,,what made me happy was seeing a pod of maybe 20plus dolphins moving north,, they were in real close ,,say 40 yds,, if they are in that close are they just checking out the beach? or were they on bait,, as in hopefully bunker!
I also saw a fellow catch maybe a 24" bass on clams.
I agree w/ you I want to read about our community catching or not.
We are the ones in this sites infancy that will make it float or bloat.
I also check out other sites and read of catching and such happening.
It looks like this week alot of larger fish are being caught as per that grumpy b/t site.
The really good news for me,,, big ones are now taking topwater plugs!
Later I'll hit the beach dusk into nite.. no matter what happens you all will know it.
We have a great core of people here,,,lets keep the positive mojo going!

excellent post, couldnt agree more. i too saw a pod of dolphins about 50 yards off shore in strathmere. as long as the core of us originals stay tru and give some detailed reports this site will continue to be awesome.

went out today at 4;30 in lbi water was very low was able to wade out to the first bar...no luck.

went back 7pm till now with no luck no birds working or other fishermen lol...

think i will hit it had this weekend on lbi see if i cant pull a bass out ...

This weekend is gonna be the suck for bass smitty.... South winds all week. They may be in the back.

just got in from hitting 3 diff spots in northern ocean county,3 of us fished, Rebelmusic/Tossing plugs aka Jon & Jim,, all 3 of us went thru our plug bags,, we fished light into darkness and then more darkness,, there were pockets of guys out mostly all tossing bait,,didn't see any hookups.
the only fish landed was by me,, well it looked like a fish,, it was a blue that hit a black bomber,, i thot it was 14" Jon said maybe 13",, a short while later i caught a black plastic bag that i had to reset my drag,,damn good fight!
the water looked good n fishy,a south wind,incoming,didn't see bait or bunker movement --a rather dismal outing,, i'm glad i enjoy walking and getting occasionally splashed.

South winds are a must on the open beach for us on Long island,pushs the bait right on the beach.. :twisted:as far as fish we are starting to see 30lbs class fish now..

well its a little to windy lol for me to try tonight but wilt lucj the wind will die down for friday night

Took a long walk last night,to no avail,just a couple of small blues,south wind is a killer for us in Jersey. Then I decided to try a couple of spots in the back,my knowledge of the bay is pitiful to say the least!! BTW, I was using wood,plastic and bucktails. Next time I'll bring clams

Went down to LBI yesterday around 4ish to meet up with Rob. We hit Val's for some clam and bunker and headed for the sand, with no luck at the numerous beaches we tried. Headed for the inlet... no luck there. Started ploddin back and got ahold of smitty, he came and met up with us and we fished a few of our personal LBI spots. Found some serious warm water temps in the back in shallow water, 60's or 70s at least. Smitty left so we tried clams again out front.... I was about ready to call it quits and Rob egged me into heading for the inlet one more time. We get there to find the bass going bonkers on bay anchovies. We switched over to light tackle and I hooked a little snapper blue that just INHALED my little crystal minnow. After that I ended up with one hell of a wind knot and had to switch rods. For some reason, I tied on a red headed swimmer and just casted it out goofin around..... WHAMO!



It was fish after fish nonstop for me, I lost count at 6 or 7. Schoolies tearing through baitfish and smashing the plugs and going airborne and putting up a great fight. After about 5 of them my rod doubled over and the drag was peelin. I fought the fish in, found it to be at least a 32" fish and went to lift it by the leader over the bulkhead.... SNAP. Knot came undone. Needless to say I was beside myself for a bit.






I could care less about not catching a keeper last night. We had a blast, and thats what mattered. Im pretty sure I have these schools of bass in the inlet dialed in for their night bite as well, and figured out what the best water conditions are and what lures to use at the right time.

Met Charlie G this morning on the beach with nothing to talk about but Smitty,,,lol .Saw a few birds out a past the breakers

working something....not even a junkfish..

No bites nothing so we had Obecoes doughnuts and shot the crap in the 30 mph nnw winds...

Had a great time ........ Smitty was going to show up ?????...That was a no show .....lol

Saw Steve from AOK tackel . awesome Metals he makes and sand spikes also...

Going to hit it hard this weekend ,Sat,Sun.and maybe Monday if the fish show up...haha.!!!!
