A Fall Eel Fly
I know Bruce likes fishing Eels so I sat down today and tied him up one to fish with the long rod. I hope you will use it this fall and catch a big bass with it.
I tied a few up for myself also, So now all we need is a few fish to come in casting range.

Re: A Fall Eel Fly
They look great.
Is that the varivas hook again? Also, what thread do you use for your saltwater flies, Charlie?
I like the striper artwork in the background, is that your work, too?
I'm going to have to do myself a carved wooden bass, with that big mouth gaping & a hungry look! Haha.

Re: A Fall Eel Fly
Jim you have a good eye. It's a Varivas 2600 ST-V. I wanted a heavy hook to take the fly down in the water column. No other reason. I would have used a Eagle Claw 253, that and a Gami S15 are my go to hooks.
As for thread I use Danville flat waxed nylon in 210 size.
I bought the print. I wish I could draw like that. I got it off Ebay years ago as a set. The artist had a set including the Striper, a Weakfish, and a Bluefish. I think when I got them they were around $12. a print. I couldn't pass that up and framed them and hung them together as a set.
