Fish Hawk Report 6/19
Sat- All week we were wondering about getting fresh bunker and going after bass on sat morning. Bruce said he wouldnt have any untill mid morning. We wanted to be back at the dock with our limit off bass by then. Made a few calls early sat morning was lucky enough to get some fresh from a bait store at the fort. At this time it was 530,and almost sun up. Got down to the boat and out of on the water by 7. Had picked up 12 sheds from bruce as well. Headed out towards the channel and setup for the outgoing. Conditions were sloppy but fishable. We managed 4 tb bass up 24" and a bunch of snags. After going through all our bait, hooks, and sinkers...we threw in the towel for the bass and went to the drum grounds. The tide had switched and was incoming,we had w*nd with the tide. Figured it would lay down...wrong. It was worse on the incoming then outgoing. Had a few waves break over the bow due not enough scope. The bite was almost non existant. The past few weekends we got our drum on the incoming. Today it felt like it wasnt going to happen. But it did,
One pup @22".That was it,soon as it hit the deck we pulled up the anchor and had a wet ride in. Not the greatest but still beats work.
Sun- By 6am it must of been 90 degrees out and the bugs were terrible.Hung around the house with dad for fathers day and took out the lil boat"no time"Riss and i went down to the south end of the island to the Gut. Clean water, shoals and sand bars, along with cleaner sand made for a few hours of swiming. No fishing, just relaxing. Wont be back on the water till the holiday weekend. Far as the bass go,i think were done But you never know

nice report. i thought the same thing. i figured when it switched to incoming our drift speed would pick up, but thought for sure it would lay down a little. our drift speed picked up a bit, but it became much rougher.
