Some epoxies say on the label, amber color when dry. The stuff they sell at harbor freight is one.

What kind of paint did you use. The epoxy will make certain paints run.

I looked back at my early work and had the same prob. and it drove me nuts... not sure if you using the same process, but if ur using blo(boiled linseed oil) that and an enamel based primer...you will get the runs. It's the blo seeping through the primer, switch to an oil based primer and you won't have the blo show through. They still need to cure though and all woods dry differently. Hope this helped you out.

It is tough to tell but could that be soot. Held the flame a little long in one spot or to far away? I messed up one the other day like that. I have also used it to my advantage as well.
