Re: Tips and Tricks
Great idea
Measure twice, cut once.
Here's a tip. If you use a two part epoxy and depending on ratios. I found a nice trick when I was in a pinch once. Take two mixing cups. If the ratio is 1:1 take a ruler and measure from the bottom of the cup up and make marks on each cup at the same measurement. If the ratio is 2:1 Then just double the measurement mark on one of the cups. :)

Film canisters....
Film canisters are perfect containers for your premixed paints. Once you get the color and consistency you like place it in a film canister cover with plastic wrap place the cap on and store upside down. Be sure to mark you caps or containers with the formula and you should keep a log on the formulas you mix. :study:

how to fix a ugly rebel lure
first remove lip if you can....
sand all the ugly lines out of the plug and fill in the eyes with plumbers putty sand smooth.
re drill 3/8th eyes a little farther back and paint the color you want.
epoxy lip back in place and clear coat with a high end clear.....
put all new hooks on it and then give to a friend.....

Here's how I make hangers and ties from SS welding rods. (Very Fast)
Here's how I make hangers and ties from SS welding rods
.
I find the Rods stiffer than the SS wire that comes on rolls and is available at any welding supply store.
1. I put a mark on my round nose pliers for consistency and bend a loop, there. Then I "overbend the wire to make a more circular loop.
2. Cut the wire evenly.
3. Place the ends of the wire in a vise grip.
4.Clamp the loop with a flat pliers.
5. Twist, counter clockwise. Now you're done!
6. Here are a couple, one .045" and the other .062
Just drill holes appx the same size as the twisted wire, epoxy them up, placing some epoxy in the hole, wipe any excess with a paper towel dampened with alcohol and you'll have an eye that won't pull out, ever. (The Professor was the first one to show me the epoxy technique in the 70's)

Re: Tips and Tricks
For painting scale patterns on the back of your baits. Get several different sized wood sewing hoops and secure your netting loose enough in the hoop to conform to the bait's shape and shoot the scale color.
