Monster Cob.

This monster Cob weighing 82Kg (180lbs) was caught off the beach in the Cape Province, South Africa on the 23rd. Christmas came early for the lucky angler. Reports are that it's a South African record catch. It was later released and swam away strongly.

That's a hell of a stick he's throwing as well!!!!!!!!!!!!

These rock and Surf guys use big sticks and I know they cast 150 yards plus.
Fishing off the beach has been bad of late. We have Chinese trawlers running up and down our coast taking everything, it's illegal but the government does squat.
A boat was seen not more than 500 yards of the beach a week ago.
Cob have been coming out regularly over the last ten days and of the reports we have about 90% were released.

To bad Stripers don't get that big

i hate trawlers ... they definatly wreck fishing for shore guys and boat guys also ... the stuff they throw back doesnt have a great chance at sevival ... nice fish
