Back Bay Hopping Empty Back Bay Hopping

Hit the back bays with Rich last night. Things started off slow, as our first 3 stops resulted in me catching only one tiny Striper, about 18". Rich was having technical difficulties throughout the night with his anti-reverse fouling up and his line trying to create intricate birds nests on his reel. The full Moon didn't help much, always seems to put the fish down. And the tide rips out after flooding, and it was really high and fast last night.
Due to the lack of fish and difficulties, we decided to try one last spot. Glad we did. I landed 4 other Stripers, all shorties of 18"-22". But lots of fun, and quite feisty! I missed another 10 or so with short hits. That, or the stupid weighted worm hook I was using was bent at a weird angle. Should've stuck with the jig head. Either way it was a nice night out. The shore towns didn't seem all that crowded either considering it's the 4th of July holiday.
