Cayo costa state park FL trip

Sure some of yall caught the pics off my facebook... heres the report -

Packed 3 rods, a full tackle bag, plenty of gulp, and did some google map oogling before I went off the grid for 5 days. Cayo Costa state park is a beautiful island offa Cape Coral/ Boca Grande on the gulf coast, went for spring break with my college friends to do some camping.... well for me it meant

1st night - got to the island, got camp set up, hit the beach. Casted some spoons and gulp and ended up with a few short specks. Headed to the back bay lagoons. Had snook like crazy all schoolie size on plugs and DOA shrimp. lost count of them.


2nd day - fished the gulf side beach not much luck during the day water was real churned up. changed to some smaller hooks, had a big mix of ladyfish, whiting, pinfish, 1 teeny tiny sheepshead, specks, no flounder. 2nd night fished sunset bagged up a ton of pinfish n some ladies for bait. hit the beach with shark hooks and cut pinfish and ladyfish, no luck so switched to a small hook and put a few of the girls with our group on some big sailcats. went 10 for 10 on hookups on them.


3rd day fished boca grande pass, everyone caught gulf flounder on gulp nonstop and ladyfish and specks and whiting too. the other 2 days we fished and caught flounder, pinfish, ladyfish, etc.

no sharks all week.

WARNING - I DID IT AGAIN DIDNTWEAR A SHIRT did get a lil thicker round the middle though... stupid college food and beer.
