Not just beach work but roman, saxon Archaeology field work love it too bits just the thought of touching a cion or artifact that has `nt being touched for couple 1000yrs, and every good signal gets me excited as it could be the treasure find of the yr (yea right)

Can you tell us how old they might be ???
And how you came across them ?

Sorry yes the hammered are about the 1400 1500 , the sceat is from the 6-7 century

I use a minelab SE with a sef coil for slight extra depth and apparently there more stable then the standard coil, we hae tons of roman celtic, saxon, history,

ive ben out for the last 3 days detecting and only found old lead and a medevil ring so its not easy as some people think.

Why winter?

crops are cut , so we can get on the stuble we dont like to hunt on pasture/grass , then when fields are plowed and drilled makes it easyer to get a bit deeper as well.
