3-17 Report with Pix!!!

Extremely tough fishing today, fished from 11-4 on Elmer lake, all by myself. Didn't see much at first, caught the first 20" pickeral around 12:30 then a small largemouth around 2pm. The pick hit a gold suspending jerk and the lg mouth hit the 1/2oz rattle trap after he had followed up the jerk bait and small crank bait. Beautiful day on the water but the fish were not coorperating at all. I figured it would be tough, its the wrong time of the month, but i wasn't letting that ruin my break... Be out tomorrow again somewhere, supposed to be even nicer!

Yeah, nothing against the baitcasters, but i always loved the spinners, i can get into spots i never could with a bait caster. Good luck with getting that puppy "fine tuned" !!

I was down at my lake last weekend (Lake Valhalla- Montville NJ) and saw the ice was all out. Actually saw some minnows in the shallows. Thinking about putting the jon boat in soon!. I'm sure the perch and Crappies will be on the move soon.

steve u dont have to answer rubes he's just going to get dominated this year he's asking cause he knows i got secert lures this year, and im not talkin about the bass professors snake lure~~ rubes knows! great post steve where u fishing these lakes trying to get a heads up nj area? mike

Mike if you are interested I know a few spots right off of 287 that wouldn't be that far from SI :idea:

fishpro that would be great but i got to get me a nj license too have 5 licences or permits i got so far this year. but im considering it~ fishpro u know tat lake or pond by the pfieffer blvd exit if say i was coming from si??? just wondering seen people fish there wondering if there was fish

Mikey, never even knew it was there.....most of the time I travel on 440 its coming back from Curves :suspect: and the sun is not out :affraid: You're going to the somerset show right? The exit you take for the show takes you to one of my favorite pickerel,muskie,smallmouth,largemouth,striper spots
When you go to the show look around a little. I am going to be down the street from the show working on my wifes car(she wants some boom in the trunk) I may go if I get done early.
