Sunday Bass Blitz

OK so was anyone from SBO on the beach yesterday for the epic blitz? From what I saw and heard it looked like anywhere from LB to Manny had huge fish readily taking poppers. Check out the Shore Catch website for some pix from the boat and the jettys looks like it was insane.
So who was on it? Lets hear how you did.

Why is your photo during the day and JFP's at night? Were the fish around all day?

Kev I just saw the pix that shore catch posted. I have to say who would want to fish a jetty or beach like that.
Guys were asshole to asshole, it looked like a local boy convention on 1 jetty. But I wasn't there so I'm just going by the pix that I saw. If that's how it is fishing a blitz I'm not sorry I haven't been in on one or got a call about one of them. I'm not a cell phone wh0re anyway. I've seen how that works and don't want any part of it. When I fish I want to get away from all phones and other fast paced everyday life. I've been mugged to many times and don't like the crowds when fishing.
It did look like every one made a killing tho on 20lb to 30lb bass. Congrats to them and enjoy.

Kev, yes .....afternoon and evening Joe and I fished different jetties.

Charlie, that sure catch picture was only one jetty, it was going on in the whole area....

PS.........JFP was on the jetty in the picture!

I was on this jetty......

It was really cool, the fish would swim up on the jetty when a wave broke. No gaff needed!

sounds really cool.... never seen a bass blitz.... way to catch them up boys...

Tech you mean you weren't in this crowd. Must have been a crowd on every jetty. No wonder they called it a massacre.

hey guys if u look close most guys were unable to fish the front of the jetty cause the waves were crashing over the top...this was not true for a few of us i stayed right up front and took the waves the were only 4 of us up there so was not a mess like u would think..i got 5 0r 6 over 25lb

how many bass have u caught this decade lol not to many and oh yea my cell phone was in the car...i released 4 and released 3 yeasterday

You Just Don't Get It...!!!!!

Cell phones and the internet are ruining the fishing experience. A number of years ago there may have been 5 or 6 fishermen on each jetty rather than 30 or 40. It used to be you had to look around and find your own fish. Striper fishing used to be a tightlipped, closed mouth sport but it is not anymore. I witnessed all this from my boat on Sunday. Normally I would have been upset that I was on the boat rather than on the jetties because I always preferred surfcasting to fishing on a boat. However, I was actually glad that I was not participating in that circus and was able to get away from all the other boaters as well. I released 14 that day including a few in the mid to high 30's.
