Here's this week's project !!! I haven't had the chance to clear coat it yet, maybe Sunday. Not the greatest photo, that's for sure, I should have Smitty do all my pictures, he takes nice shots !!
Tried doing the stripes freehand on paper, forget about it, no way I can do that. Used the method Skippy taught us in the first week, frisket, thanks Skip !!!!

Here is my homework assignment, actually it is 2 assignments in one. It is my Black Talon marble plug with hand painted Mackerel lines. The pictures dont do it justice with the interference in the top coat it really twists the colors.

Looks great Vin. I'm surprised you trust those screw eyes with everything you might hook up with down that way.

Benny (Snook,Tarpon,Ladyfish,Redfish,Seatrout) are all flats fish that do not have teeth, so they will not cut my bait in half. The screw eyes are SS they wont open up for anything less than a gorilla, they are epoxied in and epoxied over. The uses of thru wire is because of the soft wood used, if the fish bites through your bait you still have a solid hook up. I believe it was Fatfingers who said that if your bait might be cut in half rather than thru wire use harder woods.

Those were the screw eyes you sent me with those blanks awhile back, and that was only a twelveish pound blue.
The leverage these big fish can get is astounding, the one in the back ripped right through the wood, a harder wood may have helped but through wire would have landed the fish.

Benny those screw eyes I sent you are brass, they will fail. The screw eyes I use now are SS and longer, I have since started twisting my own screw eyes with .051 air craft wire. Like I said before they will not open or break, Old Man took a 30" striper on my screw eyes.

Re: Bigrocks " Holy Mackerel "
I hear you Vin, I put some on an SKS spook that sure looked beefy enough, I'll stick with through wiring though
When you say your twisting your own, there's no opening right? I remember seeing a how to on that which looked pretty good.
