Bunker Kill off Part 2

Went today to try to do a little fishing from the Kayak. There were thousands of bunker all ocer the creeks and beach. Bleus weren't around like they were all weekend but did manage a few.

Wow :shock: thats sick..who is going to clean up all the dead bunker??

why did they die.... what toxins are in the water...

Toxic Bluefish ran them up on the beaches in a weekend feeding frenzy.

my guess is blue chasing these all around and off the beach then the tide just put ith m all in the cover when the water got high....or bunker used all o2 in the water trying to evade the blues...

Would hate to see that down here but then again.... Bunker aint goin nowhere any time soon.

If they are the large ones that was their last spawn before they die of old age. I read this in an article written from Rutgers Univercity.

I went by bicycle thusrsday parked and locked it up and walked the coast of the bay for 20 minutes till i reached the moose lodge where was this taken

This was taken on the other side, if you go up around the circle and down the ytrail to meeting house creek. Did there happen to be a Blue explorer with a red kayak on the roof when you were there> I thought I saw a bike locked up by the beach there the other day.

Ya I think so but I think I went in the opposite direction then
yesterday had some near larrys light house and in indian island though so I've got four garbage bags full yesterday

I think its not the blue fish driving them up to the shore because Ive got a bag of them also
I believe its got to be the o2 content because Bob jester was over there with some science kids lastyear with bunkers in the highschool and some of the water with an O2 tester kit
