meet my 'Sea-Snakes'
Went out in the boat last night, tried out some new lures I've made up. We didn't get any bass, I'm afraid, not even when we switched to small pollack live-baits.
However it was a lovely evening & I was very pleased with the way the new plugs worked & they cast like bullets!
I have weighted them well back, so they really go through the air, without tumble, which also minimises snagging the line round a treble. Positioned the 'front' treble somewhat further back, too. A great lure for shore-fishing, or where conditions are calm & the bass 'spooky', I reckon.
Hope to post a pic of one stuck in the maw of a silver beauty, soon!
Jim.

Re: meet my 'Sea-Snakes'
'Eh up, Mark, you're back in town. Haven't seen a post from you for a while.
Good to see you.
The black/silver is 4.5" long & is just under an ounce, the other two are 6" long & 1.5oz. weight.
I got fed up with wimpy lures that don't have enough weight about them & so make mine so I can bang 'em out if I need to.
Was using a red chugger-type popper, too & that'll go 60 yards no probs.
Yeah, post your lure up. This is a great place to get & exchange ideas on.
Thanks for the compliment 'Kingfish...'
