Low Tide Tactics for Beach and Jetty?

Gonna run out tonight and fish the end of teh outgoing - Belmar and north


Looking for ideas as to what works during a low tide - tossing lures not bait

Well never made it out but I am still interested in what you do at dead low - anything different ?

well capt if ya know what baits around thaty would be the key at high or low.......ya can sneak out to the bar at dead low but the thing here is to match the hatch.....i dont fish bait much but early spring bait seems to work .........ill throw small hopkins, krocs, ava's brown/red tail local bait shops can send ya in the right direction on baits that are running and lure profiles to match the hatch

Thanks Handy - I would guess that match teh hatch works at any tide :)

I was think more along the lines of what to look for (cuts, bars, etc., and the most productive way to approach them. For example, top water and shallow running lures in the skinny water? Pulling jigs up over the drop off, etc.


maybe I am over thinking this and I should just start casting and let the fish tell me what works best.
