IBSP Beach Passe's for 2012
Just to let everyone know the passes are at the gate house and can be purchased now.
I was told by a friend that got his today there will be a price increase as of Jan. 1st to 225. this is "second hand" info and I didn't hear it myself. I was told it would be for out of state vehicles only so if you can get down before the first you will save the increase. I might call the gate house tomorrow to verify this info.
Happy New year :happy 2012: and see you on the beach in the coming year

Freek I've had a pass for 7 years and surf fishing for about 40 years and I'll just say this. If you have other productive areas in Ocean county and else where I wouldn't both with the pass. If the bite is red hot in the Park, and you being 19 and able to walk some, you can always do a walk on there.
There are so many other productive areas to fish. And you being young I would move around and gain more productive fishing spots. You never really learn and improve your fishing skills from fishing the same area or following the masses. You just learn to follow the crowds and answer your cell phone. move around and find the fish and you will learn how to be a more productive surf fisherman.

I like my pass.. I do alot of overnights down there sleeping in the truck.. Also a little on the lazy side so being able to drive on is very nice.. Plus it is easier when i bring the dogs down with me and so on.. I guess its more of personal choice..

Not worth it. No fish at IBSP. Unfriendly crowds. Rude Fisherman. And the sand is too soft to drive on.

For me, its totally worth it. I'm out on the beach several times a week in season. I spend quite about of time in the park. Having access to the N Jetty and the inlet is a big plus.
But dont limit yourself to IBSP. Its only one peice of the puzzle.
