Testing the Outback
I installed a Humminbird FF in my kayak. No holes drilled. I used a Ram wedge mount that I put in the sail mast. Works great and easy to see. I also added a Yak Pac by Precision Tackle, Turbo Fins, front hatch liner and larger sailing rudder. The Yac Packs are worth every penny. They include rod holders, water tight gear boxes, a small cooler, tie downs and plenty of pockets. Tackle direct has them on sale right now. Reg. $118 Sale $69. Took the kayak out for a test in freshwater. Just wanted to see how the FF performed, all went great. Can't wait to get it in the salt for fluke..

Re: Testing the Outback
John Did you notice the difference with the fins and the rudder. You turn that rudder in one direction or the other when you're peddling fast
and that baby will leave a wake.
I went out early this morning to give the cabo40 and the new St Croix Mojo Bass a try. Works great and casts a mile, had to come in got 1/2 way across the bay and the sky turned black lots of thunder and lightning. The mojo is graphite so I didn't want to get hit. Made it back to the truck just before the skys opened up.

Yes Andy, the rudder is awesome and turns on a dime. The Cabo and Mojo sounds like a great combo. I ended up buying a Shimano Travella rod for fluke. I put a Stradic on it, should be fine. I'll keep you posted.
