Upper Bay 10/31-11/1

After sitting 3 weekends out, due to weather and inaccurate forecasts, we finally got down to do some fishing. Sat forecast called for south winds up to 25kts and rain. Our plan was to get out super early and beat this system coming through. Got down to the fort around 10pm on friday to drizzle,overcast and slight breeze. Got up around 3 am to check out the weather, more than fishable. Back to bed and up again at 6. Weather seemed to be holding, down to the boat about 730ish. When we arrived to the marina two boats had just come back with thier limit. Wow, is it really that good out there?
Plan was to head out to the edge and chunk with the rest of the fleet. But after talking to a few guys at the dock decided to stay in shallow and see what happens. Left the dock about 8 and headed a few miles south of Money Island in 12-18ft of water.

Got to the location and had no one around, mostly everyone was out deep. Anchored up marked a ton a fish and began to chunk with the rest of the incoming tide. Within a few mins my buddys rod starts to bounce, keep in mind he has never striper fished before. I told him to wait intill the reel is screaming. It never did, alittle pull of the drag and few more bounces. Told him to go ahead reel it in. He pulls in a short 24 inches. Ok, not bad so theres life here. Next maurissa's reels starts to sing, then scream. FISH ON!!!! A few moments later, she pulls in this..



nice 37-38inch bass!! Alright we are on to somthing here!!! The tide starts to slow down a bit and i go up front to through a few chunks up current and i hear this really loud drag scream.Turn around and my line is going. Run to the back to grab and lock up-look over and my buddy matt is hooked up too!!! DOUBLE HOOKUP!!!!



Two fish just under 40".. This is great!!! So we are now at slack tide and have three fish in the box. Weather continued to hold out and the seas were really 1 foot or less. Tide finally started to swing and the current started to run. Not long after i hook up with another nice bass.



Got my limit- 38inch and 37.

an nice 38inch. So now we have to anglers on board with their limits and need one more,my lady angler maurissa. Well of course she has to show us up with this nice 40+inch 29lber!!! WAY TO GO BABE!



Headed back in around 2ish with our 2man and one lady limit up to 29lbs. Weighed the fish in @ al's BT over in fortescue. Combined weight was just over 100lbs. WHAT A DAY!!!!

Sunday
Sundays forecast was better than saturdays. Arrived to the marina alittle before and was greated with dark skies,overcast and slight northly breeze.
Plan was no different than saturdays. Headed back out to the spot a few miles south and anchored up for the outgoing. After a few mins being there noticed i didnt have the cooler for drinks and food. Made a call back to the marina to see if i left in the truck...nope. SO that means its back at the house in fortesue,UGH. Called up pops and asked if he could go back and grab it bring it to the dock and i would meet him, he said sure. Took him about 20mins round trip. IN that 20 mins i only put out a two rod spread and chunked. Figured no need to get all setup,pick up,and back ect. So after 10 mins maurissa line starts rippin!!! I mean rippin.. Tightens the drag gives a few cranks and FISH ON!!!! This fish pulled out quite a bit of line. Finally she is able to put the breaks on and get this fish boat side..WOW is all i have to say...



measured over 40 easily. I think it was 43. And def. over 30lbs. Soon after my buddy matt gets hooked up...



Pops calls and says hes back at the dock. Picked up,ran 5 mins back to the dock grabbed the cooler and Rusty Joe, Mikey,And Tina followed up in his boat. Its was fish on for the rest of the incoming. We boated 3 more fish up 40+inches.Riss pulled two over forty today,matt had two in the high 30's and my self brought back one.

Best weekend/striper trip ever! We are fishing the High Tides Tournament this upcoming weekend in capemay. There are alot
of bass in the bay right now. Get out there and get um!!!!!

Great fishing there and thanks for the reports and pics....Nice to see a big smile on Riss, last week she was on vent mode but this time, it's all good....Way to go Riss.
