connecticut conservation license
as of today 6/15/09 you need one to fish in ct. waters so if you guys are in a boat be carefull . mass is supose to do it next year im not sure on r.i. and n.y. ... once your state starts up i think you only need to buy your own states license not all 4 states ... $10.00 for residents and $ 15.00 for out of state

Re: connecticut conservation license
That is not a bad price, down here it is close to $40 for non resident. The question is who gets the money?? Does it actually go towards conservation?

Re: connecticut conservation license
now it is my understanding, that since NY will require one as of 1/1/2010 and so will NJ that CT,NY and NJ have a reciprocating policy on Liscenses. Have you heard word of that??

Re: connecticut conservation license
Thats why the states are doin it, because if they don't institute a saltwater licsense by a certain date, the federal one kicks in and the state loses the revenue. Now whether the states use the money the way it is intended is a whole other story.

Re: connecticut conservation license
This year will be the first time ever that we have to pay to fish from the shore!! I think it is a bunch of BS personally but hey the state needs more Wildlife Officers. I dont think the moneys from the permits and licenses in Florida are spent wisely, I never see Rangers ever unless I am at a state park. The south americans that live down here illegally or legally do not follow the sportsmans code of ethics. I have a hard time fishing at night because of the crap I see going on, makes my blood boil.

ON HOLD?????
Last I heard it was on hold due to good ol Gov. Jodi not signing the bill.... Now lets keep one thing in mond you dont have to have it till she signs it end of story, Why? Cause its not a law. Last I knew that was the way it is, she still had not signed it so....

Re: connecticut conservation license
The ole' nutmeg state doesn't want to miss out on a single penny of revenue, and they sure don't want the feds to get it. Most likely its a wording issue with the law...... its a matter of time....hopefully they are not re-writing the fee's :suspect:
