Sand eels!
Found these videos on youtube. I think they were taken across the pond in Europe. The first one is definitely Ireland...but they seem to be the same sandeels as the ones found here. Take a look at the way they swim. Could help you with presentation come fall. I was also amazed to see that when they are over a light sandy bottom, they look mostly black...sort of like a sluggo or even a bomber.

Now I know why Steve McKenna fishes his sluggos like a pencil popper!!! I always thought that his way was weird but now I see why...

Re: Sand eels!
I've seen the first video before, gave me a lot of insight into my needle designs, helped me a lot.
it also was what I used to come up with a really good sand eel color, although a commercial builder promptly stole it
good stuff though. looks like level sinking, or slightly tail down (how I like 'em) works best.

Re: Sand eels!
Upon further viewing...I can also see why our fall metals like T-hexes, Avas and Deadly Dicks do so well. The side profile is very silvery and thin. T-hex did very well for me this fall, and its a lure I have more confidence in. I can picture a bass following the school of fish and then just waiting for one to make a wrong turn, or for part of the school to break off, sort of like around 1:30 in the first video.
