Hey Arty
Yes i use Onion bags from the store and clips to hold it tight
Put your base coat down first let dry and then put the mesh on and paint the top coat let dry and you are all ready for the Epoxy.
I use E-tex from Michels ... But a lot of guys use Devcon 2 ton epoxy ...Watch the 5 min stuff its not waterproof and turns yellow...
anything else just ask away
Re: A paint ?
WHEN YOU PUT THE SCALING MESH ON MAKE SURE ITS SNUG.SO YOU END UP WHIT NICE LINES. BEFOR TAKING THE MESH OFF MAKE SURE THE PAINT IS DRY. IF ITS NOT THE SCALING CAN SMUDGE.

Re: A paint ?
Like redbass said below, make sure it's dry. In the past, I've done quick passeds with a hairdryer to make sure its dry
before I remove the wrap. If you are just starting with
scaling I suggest doing a quick mist of envirotex spray before you scale, just make sure it's dry first. that way if you make a mistake you can
wipe it off without disturbing your underlying paint.

Re: A paint ?
IF YOU PLAN TOO USE EPOXY. YOU WILL NEED A SPINNER SO THE EPOXY WILL DRY EVENLY. THE SPINNER KEEEPS THE PLUG TURNING.SO YOU DONT GET RUNS AND GLOBS OF EPOXY. I USE ENVIROTEX LITE. I SPIN PLUGS FOR ABOUT 6 TOO 8 HOURS. WHEN DONE I LEAVE THEM FOR ANOTHER 12 HOURS. JUST SO THE FINISH HARDENS FULLY. I HAVE LEARNED THAT IF I TAKE THEM RIGHT OUT. THE FINISH IS STILL SOFT. THEN YOU END UP WITH FINGER PRINTS IN THE FINISH.
