Hey Jeff how did it go

A small group of us SBO guys, (JeffL Handman, Zmat, and myself) hit the park yesterday. There was a good wind wind out of the SW that made casting light plugs difficult. But we did end up throwing everything eccept the kitchen sink at them danm fish. Bruce (Handyman), had the first landed fish which was a small blue. We all worked our way down to the judges shack hitting every good looking cut and hole. Bruce had to get back home to get some work in. Not that he missed alot. We switched to bait and still throwing everything we had at them. We had a few more small blues and around 3pm Z bailed after landing this Sheepshead.

Jeff and I went to get something to eat after dropping Z off at his truck, then back to fishing. We set up for the eavning bite and I went back to bait as this old guy was getting tiered. I missed 1 nice hit and landed 1 small Striper about 22in on clam.

And Bruce we saw 2 of your 4 legged friends hanging around a truck down at Gillys begging for some of their bait, and looking for you.

We did get mugged when 2 old guys pulled up right in front of Jeff's suv, no more then 20ft, got out grabbed their rods and started to fish no more then 5 yards away from Jeff. They must have thought he knew what he was doing
We had a good laugh at why in over 7 miles of beach they had to fish that close to us. That was about it for fish and we left the beach at around 7:45pm.
I was amazed at how many guys were on the beach in the morning fishing. Doesn't anyone work anymore
All and all another great day on the beach with some of the SBO Guys.

Great outing even with the slow bite. I should have specified I wanted a fish with HORIZONTAL stripes. After looking it up to better ID that fish, its a Black Drum. Sheepshead don't have the chin barbs and have chompers like a tog. Looks like you'll have to find a better nickname Charlie

nice report charlie........nice catch on the sheeps head Z.....i havent seen one of those since my trip to fla.......was a good trip charlie.......and jeffl can cast a mile..............call him the gunner.....the way he guns those plugs out there
