What are good lures
Hey all Im just wondering what are good lures to throw in the back bay. Small woods or maybe small hard baits like crystal minnows. Storm Shads? I mostly have bigger lures that I fish in the surf and Im not sure if I should be using them in the back this early in the season. Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated?

Try RM Smith Jigsmith (if you have one) or Eelpunt roundnose swimmer. Basically you want anything with a smaller profile to imitate spearing YoZuris, small Bluesharks, Hab's mullets, BM Spin Atoms, and other small handcarves would probably work as well. If all else fails go with a bucktail and a pork tail.

pink zooms (or finS) have always been my lure of choice early on. i had my one and only 30" fish this spring on it. i also like to throw herring pattern redfins (small ones) and the like.

I have to say it the ones that Catch !!!!
Every fisherman has different mechanic's and works a lure differently
I use bucktails and Plastics ..
The best way to learn is to fish .Go out with 3 l lures and see what works ..
Probally wit the vast knowledge here we can probably pin point spots and whats the best .
But that will take the fun out it .
If it is still in the back you dont want to throw a lure thats gonna make a huge splash .
The best part of fishing for me is figuriing out what kicks ass
Walk the back during the day and scout it out , if you can read the beach you can read the back

Re: What are good lures
like GSB said, keep it real simple, only a few lures, but each one a different profile..see what works in your area. i know some spots that the smallest fish will hit a fat shad, or where ive caught keepers on real small, slim swimmers...
