eye replacment...??? Empty eye replacment...???

i need to replace the top eye on one of my rods is this something i can do or is it best left to the pros????

certainly is doable... i've replaced the top eye on my fly rod. but for my surf rod i took it to the shop just because i knew it would be put under more stress...

i'm sure you can take care of it on your own---just youtube it lol! lol!

smitty heat the tip with a lighter and slide it off .....then put the new one on ..easy..

You can do it yourself but by the time you buy the tip and
The glue stick your looking at about 10 or 12 bucks when you
Can have a shop do it for about 7 bucks
The choice is up to you

if its the tip just heat it up like oldsalts said.............now if its the top eye you have to cut the eye off where the wraps start at both ends.....and remove the old wraps and the eye.....and install the new eye and rewrap the rod.............if i lived close to ya id repair it for ya ..............no charge...............good luck
