Createx Pearl gold & E-tex issues?

Anybody had issues with sever fish eyeing on E-tex coats after using Createx Pearl gold

Yes i have and now i spray a clear coat between the paint and Etex...or you have to sit there and brush the epoxy to fill in the fisheyes ....PITA

What type of clear spray do you use and did you mean while it's drying keep brushing to fill in the eyes?

I haven't and it's probably because I learned to clear coat before etexing with Rustoleum clear coat from Oldsalts and Murph. Two good teachers right there not that my work is any good. I must have slept threw class again.
And I love the gold pearl color

yes keep brushing as it hardens there is a fine line and if it gets to hard use a heat gun to flow it out...and the Rustoleum clear is best i have found...

That's good to know about the clear coat. I was probably the one snoring next to Charlie in class as I missed that all together.

Any and all painting tips please send via PM as my memory is shot, seem to have ADD, at least in a PM I can print it out for another day.

MS are you sure it wasn't something on your hands when you handled the plug or plugs after painting. That can cause all kinds of trouble. I ALWAYS wash my hands before touching my plugs while painting or while getting them on the spinner to e-tex them. That can also cause problems from the oils from our skin. I learned that the hard way while rod building.

Which rustoleum clear coat is it? American accents Clear top coat? Do It Best Premium Clear Coat Aerosol?

Or is it another one?

Jamie, It's Rustoleum's " Crystal Clear " . You can buy it at Lowes or Home Depot. I've been using it for years.
