10/28 Almost spooled but I won

Thanks to the bunker shortage I got my first keeper. Couldn't reserve for the weekend but was told he had some coming in Thursday around noon. If I'm driving an hour twenty I'm fishing. Calling for 25 knot gusts later in the day so I planned on a couple hours of playing with the shorts I've been getting into. Drop and catch short action even reusing baits immediately. 2.5 hours 10 stripers and used 2 bunker. The 2 oyster crackers are the only things that swallowed the bait everything else right in the lip. A little shy of my record but definitely the strongest fish I ever fought. It started ripping off line and there was no pause. After a while the possibility of being spooled was real. One crank of the drag nothing. One more crank nothing. Just held on till the mono was in sight and was able to slowly gain ground. First shot with the net was swing and a miss. Tired him a little more and got it with the second shot of the net. The winds picked up and didn't want to fight a ripping tide and howling wind solo so called it a day. Had Bruce shoot one with the Rusty Joes sign since I didn't have one yet. Thanks for the bait and the pic Bruce. Met diehardfishermen at the dock. Nice meeting you Ron my guess is we'll be seeing more of each other. Shorter leaders mattered again today. Upper bay 30 ft of water. 41" 24lb.

In close. I have a knack for finding Stripers in random spots. I probably couldn't pay you to fish in my spring spot and it was so good to me its the only place I fished. I've been wanting to try my spring spot to see if it would work in fall but I'm waiting for the fish to dry up where I'm catching for now.

My old phone was the best fishing camera and the flip broke on it. going to plan B with an old camera for tomorrow hopefully get to use it.
