Fish Hawk Report 7/3-7/5

Sat-Forecast called for light and slight out of the west. Well when we got up that morning it was honking out of the west 15+. The plan was to go for drum and weakfish. If there was someone already fishing the area we wanted to then we would go for tog(catch and release) sure enough there was someone fishing for drum. So we headed over to the wreck, tried to get on top but it wasnt working out. Back over to NJ side and figured we would see if that person had left. Nope,had some bunker on board so tried for some stripers. No luck. After 3 hours of trying to find something to fish for besides flounder we made it to the drum grounds. Anchored up for the incoming tide and it was long before they hit the deck.

25" and 29" for me.
Shortly after my two, Riss hooks up with one as well(lady angler form).Hooked into a few rays,and big brown shark.

Back to the dock about 3ish.

Sun- Took a kid fishing today. Never caught a fish in his life, let alone go saltwater fishing. Plan was to fish the incoming tide for drum.
Waited till about 10am and headed out. Arrived to the drum grounds with little to no current. Waited it out for a few,and finally anchored up.
Riss was the first to hook up.She nabbed i think a 26 or 28" pup. Soon after it was Tristains turn. His first fish is a 31" pup pushing 20lbs!


soon after riss hooks up again! another 28" fish in the box! then tristain hooks up with a 24"! INSANE! and guess what?yup,riss gets her 3rd and final drum! limit out! As for me, i caught little sand sharks and a ray ahahaha. It was great to see tristain reel in these fish,and to introduce him to fishing was even better. back to the dock by 3 with 5 pups.


Bait was shedder crab
Temps were in the high 70's if not 80
incoming tide
16-20ft of water on structure.

Taking a break this weekend. Will be out on the 16th for the opener for tog!
