Bayside Anglers Group Ltd.
Proudly Presents an Earth Day Celebration
“Bayside Anglers Waterfront Day”
16th Annual Little Neck Bay Beach Clean-up
9am Sunday April 18th 2010

(this is a rain or shine event)

Every April, with the cooperation of the NYC Parks Dept. and Partnership for Parks, the Bayside Anglers Group, Ltd., a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of environmentally sound recreational fishing practices, holds our award winning Annual Beach Clean-up. We spend the day cleaning a winter’s worth of floating debris from the shores of Little Neck Bay. We encourage other community groups as well as the general public to pitch in with us. Volunteers will be provided with refreshments and food. To spice things up, all participants are entered for a chance to win raffle prizes provided courtesy of our generous and committed sponsors.

Our newly expanded project will cover the nearly 3 mile stretch of public shoreline from Bass Beach at the back of the bay up to but not including Fort Totten, then across Little Bay Park all the way to the sea wall at Utopia Parkway. The manpower of environmentally minded individuals, local schools, and community groups, as well as the logistical and financial support of local and national businesses and corporations combine to make this day fun, rewarding and environmentally meaningful. Perhaps your community or youth group would be interested in participating. We welcome volunteers.

Organizations wishing to participate in this event should contact our event coordinator by April 5th with a list of members/volunteers that will be attending. This will simplify the registration process as well as provide us with an estimated headcount so that we can have adequate refreshments and food for everyone.

Certificates of Community Service will be available to participants who request them. We ask that you please RSVP by April 5th to allow time to prepare them. If you can’t attend, but wish to support this event, you can send your tax-deductible contribution made payable to Bayside Anglers Group Ltd. to P.O. Box 605048 Bayside, NY 11360

All Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own basic tools (heavy gloves/work gloves, paper grabber/ez reachers). We are expecting a very large turnout and don’t want to run out of supplies. Volunteers are also encouraged to wear boots or similar footwear with traction to help prevent slipping on rocks.

For further information, contact Event Director Peter Pabon - (917) 733-0950, president@baysideanglers.com

Wow! Only 10 views, shocking!
Well, the event was a complete success. We had nearly 200 volunteers fill over 300 garbage bags. Incredible what a year of storms, high tides and litter bugs does to the shoreline.
Our next cleanup will be Sunday August 1st 2010. Stay tuned for the details.
