A Challenge
OK here's a challenge to all our great plug builders. A few plugs I have not seen anyone reproduce. Let's see who can make the nicest version... If you wish you can put them up for auction when you're done. Come on builders take the challenge, say "I'm In". If you do let everyone know what you'll be attempting

Re: A Challenge
I have a Husky Musky repro I got from Russ (RJF) in an auction and I have a smaller version of the flaptail if anyone needs dimensions or wants to use as a model or template. You just cant destroy them and have to return them, let me know. The giant tiger went about 5 1/2 inches but not sure of the weight and I dont know if it was ever made in wood.

Husky Musky
Series: #600 Husky Musky
Years Produced: 1918 – 1954 Length: 5"” Weight: 1.4 oz.
General Notes: Made in only five colors. Very popular with collectors due to its scarcity in prime condition & its size. This series contains many body styles, hardware changes & paint patterns within the colors offered.
Description of Pictured Lure: #601 (#603 during the pre-1925 era) in Perch pattern. This is an early example with a thin unmarked lip, double line tie, early paint design, hand painted fins, & thin hooks. It is housed in a very scarce tan/yellow Intro era box.

Flaptail
Dimensions can be found here (look for the Flaptail page) I would think you'd want to make it heavier than 1 oz though! Or even better check out the Giant Jointed on the Striper and Salmon page

Re: A Challenge
prob diff, but I think a company called Chesapeake Bay Lures tried to copy that….It caught my eye so I grabbed a dented on off the discount rack at BPS. It swam like poop…I copied it, added a second belly hook and no tail and it was good to go with a lefty one lip.
dont have a pic of my belly hook copy
