going to try to quit smoking

I had a scare last night with my heart beating funny and breathing a bit funny as well not sure what it was but i was as close as i wanted to get to having to make a trip to the hospital.
I even was afraid to fall a sleep last night in fear i would not wake back up due to a heart attack or something so i went and got the patch today and will be starting with that..

question is who has used it and did it work for you...????

i know I'm going to be a real bitch about this since i have been smoking for 25 yrs and smoke over 2 packs a day...

If i seem a bit on edge I'm sorry in advance ....

Its a real reality check i got all up set thinking what would happen to my little girl and wife how would they survive with out me who would pay the bills and stuff like that..

now is the time wish me luck..

Good for you boss. if your at home, whenever you feel like you need a ciggarete go to the man cave and turn a plug. Soon enough you will just want to turn plugs, something alot healthier then smoking and fun at the same time.







P.S. If you run out of place to store the finished plugs, I have a basement I can fill up to help "store" them for you

Smoked on and off for years but finally gave it up ( I hope ) for good about 2 years ago. The **** is like heroin, cocaine, and speed all rolled into one, once you start it's hard as hell to give it up. But it can be done if you WANT to quit. Just think of all the money you'll be saving, and what a power of example you'll be for your kids.

Smitty,You can do it......We had this talk a few times before.You know iv'e been a 2 pack a day smoker myself.if that patch dont work,try what i used,me and wifey did it together and now a year later smoke free for both of us..Like you said do it for you and your kids.chew 5 packs of gum a day.lol..thats what i do,for real bro..

Go for it Smitty.... I gave em up thirty five years ago, cold turkey. With the help today to get y over the first week or so just hang in there. You will feel better for it, spend the money you are paying for butts and buy material for plug making and send them to me... specially the clam plug.... will be the first one.... original/..... lol seriously, DO IT !!!!!

Good luck with it, the patch does work.... but it's not the "magic bullet"....
I've used it a couple of times to quit, once for 12 weeks and once for over 2 yrs. (but I'm back on the damn coffin nails now). It's a great 1st. step though.

smitty my gf is a speech pathologist...i can get you some pics of some throat damage that will be motivation alone! the stuff she tells me is just scary...plus the risk of a stroke is so much higher and i have personally seen the effects of that..

I cut way way way back. From 1 pack a day to 3 at night. But Summer is coming and When I fish I smoke and Most of the guys that hang out here smoke. So You Stay strong Smitty-Dog and I'll stay strong!!!! Just drink more! hahaha No Really Good Luck Hun!

good luck with quiting smitty you can do it. keep busy and think how many planes you can buy by saving not buying cigs. I hope it goes well and all at home can give you support.

Get the wife to help you Smitty. Make a deal with her that for every week you go without you get something special from her. That should be motivation enough for guys our age.

Did you know that smoking constricts blood capillaries in all organs and is one of the leading causes of ED..and that ain't Old Salts.
The patch is a great tool,,, but the bottom line is ,, and always will be is=YOU!
You gotta want it bad,, as in quitting.I did the patch,,started on 14mg for 1wk then 7 mg for 2 wks and worked for me.
Today is 7 months for me w/o a cig,, I don't miss it,, there are triggers for sure ,, but they only last a few seconds. Who is stronger? It ain't your friend and does nothing good for you. Addiction is well documented and stated above,,we all know it,, now you need to string a few days w/o a cig,, then 2 wks and so on .. Take on some positive life style actions such as an exercise program along with improved diet habits. Consider a visit to your MD for an overall health examination sharing your desire to quit smoking. To see if you're worth saving.
Let everyone know your intentions.
