Re: Shamu.... Seaworld tragedy
Just heard on the news that the whale's name was Kilacum. Not sure how its spelled. Not Shamu. Kilacum is known to have an attitude with the trainers. The trainer got the whale on its back, and it turned on the trainer and did wht it did. I guess it didn't want to perform. Still a horrible thing that happen. My prayers are sent to the trainer's family and friends. Even tho these whales are in captivity, the whales are still wild. You can take a animal out of the wild, but not the wild in the animal.

Thanks guys... it also goes for any animal in Seaworld... The dolphins, seals, otters, ect. They are from the wild and you can never tell what their behavior will be like each day. I love all animals, even killer whales but at the same time you have to give them the respect they deserve. Just my opinion of this topic.

Ever see those programs on the Discovery Channel showing killer whales tossing seals around like rag dolls, it's what they're hard wired to do. Sooner or later someone is gonna be that unfortunate seal.

I know really... SeaWorld wanted to either kill the whale or release it. They can't kill it cause its part of a big breeding program and if they release it, the whale will not be able to hunt like a whale would in the wild. So its kinda stuck where it is now at SeaWorld. The trainers are now handling this whale differently and not letting the vip ppl touch the whale no more. I feel bad for Tilikum cause he didn't mean to do it and doesn't know any better.
