Handcarves help? Empty Handcarves help?

I have a really neat idea for a plug that i wanna build my question is how do you make a hand carved look like theirs no tail wrap and doesnt use a swivel for the belly hook? I think leftys were made this way. I assume you split the plug in half and bend your wire into a track in the middle of the plug or you do this and then make your tail wrap and then putty the tail wrap into the tail. Sorry if this makes no sense i just dont know how to describe what im trying to do.

I twisted wire with a loop on the end drilled the hole so the wire
fits tight load the hole up with epoxy and screw them in
and they won't pull out than sand
