new - flaptail stubby needles
something new I've been playing with, the action is sweet with the flappy tail, gets a lot of flash from it as well.
1.6oz sinks tail-down, 5.25" body length

Re: new - flaptail stubby needles
nice one, I like the size, one treble should do the job. Is that treble hooked to a barrel swivel ?

Re: new - flaptail stubby needles
it sinks, so to walk the dog you'd have to retrieve it pretty fast. the blade tail gives the body a little wiggle while it flaps around though. I'd imagine a jerk and pause retrieve would do rather well, as it sinks on the pause the blade would wiggle back and forth.fishincrazy wrote:

Re: new - flaptail stubby needles
I thought about using a swivel there, but I didn't think it needed it, and also I think it would place the flaptail too far behind the plug. I might try one with a swivel and see how it works, but for now I think I might keep them as is.etch wrote:now thats a weapon, killer plug, do you have the blade attached via a swivel as well??

go for, with a swivel the blade action is like night and day compared to with out, dont know if it will affect your hook up rate, but all the muskie nutz that make flap tails all use a swivel on the blade, hope it helps , like you say cant hurt to try one with a swivel

Re: new - flaptail stubby needles
I'll have to try that, either take these apart and rewire with swivel, or the next few.
need to get more eyes first though
