L.B.I today

hit the beach around 9 @ H.C. . had one hit. moved to B.H for awhile same result. but i did have a little fun. while i was moving my stuff away from the water , my back to the water , when i turned around i had only one rod! looked all around until i saw my rod in the surf! my shimano br4500 on a tica 10'6" was on its way to china!!! i started to throw everything i had in after it , nothing! lost 2 hopkins , 2 snag hooks and a few others. all i had left was some plastic swimmers. too lite had to put on 3oz. to get it to the bottom. i was using my avet meat stick so............ after 1hr. and a call to andrew i went to vals and got another snag hook. after about 6 cast's BANG!!!!! rod on!!!! that was the longest 1 1/2 hrs of my life!!! now comes the cleaning , so far so good but i just started. hope your day was better. ill know better next time to move before the tide hits!!! :jerk off:

thanks guys. my heart is still pounding! i have the cover off but cant get the top off. the part the spool sits on , dont know the name of it. but its soaking in warm water with dawn dish soap. ill check on it in the morning.

was it a fish that pulled it in>? i had a 15lber when i was little do that i was lighting a fire on the beach and told my buddy just to watch the rods i turn around to see the last of the buttof the rod on the ugly stick in the wash ran in after it and got lucky she swallowed it glad ya got it back when we fishin fishingcrazy?

Jeff.....Right after you left the shop, another guy came in and said we watched his rod shoot out of the sandspike like a rocket. He did not get his custom rod and vanstall back! You were lucky! and Im very happy that you got it back!

val , now that sucks!!! got it soaking in wd-40 and it looks good!! hope to get down for the lbi get together.
