8-6 Backwater Report with Pix!!!!!!
One hell of a day is all i can say...i waited until the tide started moving out good before i searched for the flatties and landed 3 bass to 27"! I then switched over to flukin and found well over 25 fluke with 5 for the box to 20"!!! Action was insane at times and every fluke was aggressive. The rain had scared everyone away but hey, the fish are already wet right? Its august 6th and i was one shy of my limit of 18" fluke, i think our fluke stock has recovered... Still plenty of big fluke in our backwaters guys.

Nice report and pics, were you using squid, minnows..?
For some reason, the outgoing tide is better for catchin fluke (from my observations/experiences).

I cut down small bluefish and use strips about 6" long. Little meat on the skin is best.
Re: 8-6 Backwater Report with Pix!!!!!!
we do the same with bunker (also with blues if we catch the small ones)- cut into long strips.. seems to work better than minnows and squid (at times). we'll use floats heads, top/bottom rigs, tap dancers- we switch depending on what the fishy wants 8) .Steve-O wrote:MissRiss wrote:Nice report and pics, were you using squid, minnows..?
