Hi Vin - don't know if I had to weight them, but I did. Put a very small split shot in the hanger hole, ala Alphabaits.

Re: Newest Proto's
FJR, those are great looking baits. Looks like the top one will have a tight wiggle, good cold water bait. May I ask what kind of wood are the baits carved from. Drop the lip angle on the top bait about 10 degrees and put the line tie in the lip and it will be a totally different bait. 2 different baits from one body style.
Vin, you should always put some balast in a crank with a lip. Gives the bait balance under the water pressure and also gives an axis of rotation for the bait to wiggle around. You can change the action of your bait by moving the balast weight to different locations.

Re: Newest Proto's
Thanks guys !!! Don't know what colors I'm going to paint them yet, thinking of doing one in a frog pattern, ala etch.
I do have a commercial plug in frog that has caught very well. One of the fat ones is a good candidate.
Very good advise from Big M, always use some weight.

Hi Kieth - waiting for you to paint them
Hi Jason - primer white works fine, but it doesn't hold up to well after it gets wet
