The Jersey Shore Surfcasters present
SURF DAY 2009
If you are a surfcaster you can’t miss this!
SEMNIARS-WORKSHOPS-DEMONSTRATIONS-PLUGBUILDERS
When: Saturday February 21, 2009
Where: Brookdale Community College, Lincroft, NJ (minutes off the Garden State Parkway)
What time: 9:00 a.m. until 4 p.m.
Cost: $10 kids under 10 free.
Who will be there?
Mike Laptew-Diver and videographer, “Fish Eye” will give a multi-media presentation showing what surfcasters can’t see…life below the surface. Find out exactly where striped bass and bluefish like to swim?
DJ Muller-The well traveled, hard-core surf rat, will be doing a seminar on what your options are when the bunker show up. How to catch monster stripers. “Welcome to Bunkertown.”
John Skinner-A long time trophy bass hunter from Long Island will open your eyes to bucktail tactics from the surf and jetties. John is also the author of A Season on the Edge. He will be on hand all day long.
Frank Blasko- Frank Blasko has been skishing Montauk for three seasons. He is an avid surfcaster with over ten years experience on the south shore of Long Island. Frank regulary fishes from Breezy Point to Montauk, plying the Wantagh, Meadowbrook and Moses bridges, while also bucktailing the Moriches and Shinnnecock Inlets and rock hopping and skishing Montauk's south side. Frank's skishing endeavors have been featured in to August 2008 issue of Vox Magazine.
Frank will lead an interacitve discussion on skishing and wetsuiting; covering gear, safety, techniques and the mad pursuit of stripers at sea.
Jim Hutchinson Jr.- Saltwater fishing extraordinaire “Hutch” will be sharing back water and spring bay fishing strategies.
Kayak Fishing Stuff Pro-Staff- The KPS Pro-Staff will do an information-loaded, 3-part discussion centered on kayak fishing strategies entitled "The Gray Area: Where kayak angling and surfcasting collide." The pro-staff will share their years of experience discussioning three topics. First kayak choices and what's right for you. Next, big striper strategies in the spring. Finally, they will discuss other species like fluke and freshwater fish like muskie tactics during the summer doldrums.
There will be equipment and kayaks and manufacture pro's on sight all day for your questions on kayak angling.
