Chasing Shadows 6/13
Hit the beach to fish the incoming tide hoping the snook would be out, there were bnirds diving on bait about half a mile down the beach so I headed down that way. After reaching the bait I stayed near it looking for fish and found a small group of 3 snook following a school of bait and made a cast infront of them a saw the biggest one chase it down and inhale it. After a few long runs he was beached unhooked and released.
I continued to walk down to the beach away from the pier to the inlet side and saw a massive shadow swimming down the beach. It was a big 20+pounder swimming my way, I managed to get her to chase my bait twice rite to my feet almost on to the beach :affraid: , but she wouldn't eat it. I than decided to walk all the way down to the other side of the beach to see how it was down there and on the way found two cruising snook and had to run to get a head of them to make a cast and one ate it. It was a little guy and didn't fight to much unhooked it took a picture and released it.
When I got down where a fence seperates one beach from another there was a lot of bait and the snook were everywhere but would not bite, I made a few cast behind a school of bait felt a bite and then saw something silver go rocketing out of the water. I thought it was a ladyfish but it was a little Barracuda beach him and the little #$%& flung sand into my eyes and spent the next 20 minutes clearing my eyes.
Walked back to the other side of the beach and saw several more snook and another big snook but they wouldn't commit. The snook were out in numbers and there was plenty of bait around and had a great day
