It has begun

Finally the snook are in the surf, I hit the beach atleast three times or more a month and have finally seen them in decent numbers
in the last week, thanks to warmer water temps.

Hit the beach this morning to fish the incoming tide and found a cut in the sandbar that was deeper than the surrounding water and look fishy to me.
I had only made about three cast and on the fourth had a snook slam my
lure, beached him quickly and took a few pictures and released it.

It wasn't the biggest but its the first one of the season.

I was on Sanibel yesterday, Snook were every where! I wish I had brought my fishin stuff. I spent the day with 3 beautiful women and my son playing in on the beach. What are you throwing??

I was using a hardplastic jerk bait, to imitate a croaker.

You throw any wood?

I currently dont throw any wood, but I am currently building some.

lathe or hand carved? When you get some that you are proud of and need testing I would trade a couple plugs with you if you want.

Hand carved, my first batch should be done by the end of this week, a trade would be great but as you said
will have to wait till I get the hang of this plug building stuff first.
