Snaggin rigs
So I have one of those weighted treble hooks but I have heard they do not work as well as other rigs....

Re: Snaggin rigs
I just make it up from heavy mono about 18-20" long use a three ounce sinker(bank) either use a dropper or three way up about 6-8" from sinker, then a loop or length of leader about 8-9" long, use at least a 5/0 trebel. You can really launch a rig like this much further then just the weighted snags. D. J. Muller has pretty good illustrations of the rigs in his latest book.

Re: Snaggin rigs
Bro,I snag and hold..when that big fish takes the bunker, wait 5 sec to set the hook..this is my fav way to catch large..
Here's the one that I use
My friend came up with this rig and it works well for snagging & retrieving or snagging & fishing it where it is. 5/0 treble & a barrel swivel at either end attached with an offshore loop & a crimp. An egg sinker of appropriate size secured between the swivel & the hook with a crimp on either end. I place the egg sinker in the center or slighty further towards the swivel. The offshore loops give the hook & swivel the freedom to swing & there are better hookups with the bunker & the fish without the lead encroaching on the gap of the hook as is the case with store bought bunker snags.

Re: Snaggin rigs
i use something simular to stevsea but i let use a longer leader and only put a stopper on the bottom of the egg sinker so the after i snag i can drop and the bass has a sinker free run for a few seconds

Re: Snaggin rigs
i use the same setup if i'm gonna snag and leave there. only difference is i just crimp the egg sinker to the heavy mono 1 0z egg will hold the mono pretty easily with a pair of pliers. i just pinch the ends of the egg.
