Did anyone read Torre's book The Yankee Years? I am about 75 pages away from the ending and I have to say I have been disappointed in it. It was nothing like what I had expected. First of all the whole thing is written not from Torre's perspective but from the SI writer's perspective so I dont understand why Torre took so much heat for it. Also I was disappointed that there was a total lack of humor in the book. Although I understand the focus was on the demise of the Yankee's dynasty and the reasons for it the book could have used some light side anecdotes. The Cone stories were the only ones that even made me smile. I personally thought Ball Four and The Bronx Zoo were much better insights and much more entertaining.
