Herring
Checked both the Oak Bluffs and Aquinnah runs and haven't seen a single herring yet. These runs have been managed and in good working order right through the moratorium and still numbers have declined to zilch. Are they being scooped up off shore or is this a natural cycle that couldn't have been prevented?

Re: Herring
I'm not sure, numbers were low when the moratorium started but after years of not being allowed to harvest, the numbers have dwindled to the point that I don't see any signs of life. I can't help thinking that they were intercepted elsewhere and this stock has been decimated.
Maybe they are later this year or I have been there at the wrong times but I'm starting to get very worried about the future of the herring. It looks to me that all steps and entrance ways into the ponds are clear and accessible there is just nothing coming through.

Never expected it to be a bald eagle, luckily we had the camera right there and he got some great shots until the plants got in the way.
