I've begun to feel a little more comfortable with the airbrush lately. So I tried to be a little more daring with my patterns, actually used 3 colors on one plug. I really like using the brush !!!!

Nice job. I take it the top one is a hand carve? Why did you go with the plastic lip instead of metal? Just asking? I love that little guy. I think the largemouth would tear that up on Lake Valhalla, I might have to have you join me to prove it!

Kevin - Yes it is a hand carve, something I've been playing around with lately. That is only the 2nd. one I have done and yes it does swim. Since that one I have done 9 more and each one is configured differently, some with lexan lips and some with metal, just want to see how they react with the different set-ups. One has found it's way to the garbage and two are in limbo, cause I wasn't happy with the way they turned out. There are two others that have been test swam and they passed. The rest are currently in various stages of construction.

SmokinJoe - good to see another Yankee fan on board, been watching them since the 50's, saw Don Larson's no hitter. Oh, sorry don't make poppers, not yet anyway.


BeachBoy - thanks, glad you like them. Tell your Dad to invite me over to see his collection and maybe fish your lake and I'll bring some stuff over and try and show you how to do that pattern.

I cant decide which one I like the best!!!!! Very nice clean work. And its worth mentioning that since this post is my 100th, I believe there is an unwritten rule that says anybody who posts about custom lures on their 100th post gets one of those plugs!!!!

This is some top notch stuff your producing. Ive seen some nice stuff and some great stuff but I must say this is definately in the top 10 percent.

Jmerc - wow that's some high praise, thanks, but there are a lot of very talented builders out there and I think I have a long way to go to get to that level.

without a doubt there are a lot of talented builders here probably some of the best there is but rest assured you can be counted amoung them. My hat goes off to them all and you for sharing and showing us how its done.

I agree. Your work has alot of talent displayed in that first picture. I cat wait to see more in the future.
