BIG EYES = BIG FISH?

My pal Jon (the swordfish man) is off in January.
Off on that Anderman Islands trip I mentioned on a previous plug-post. We decided he might need some even bigger lures than those ones I made him, already.
I only have a mini-lathe but I can just squeeze in an 8" lure & it has a beefy drive which did not falter as I tooled these out of English beech..











The hooks are serious Owner's.. 10/0 Jobu or Gorrilla singles & 4/0 & 5/0 Stinger-76 trebles.
The idea is to 'stop-a-train'!
The big lures are a full foot long, including hooks & weigh-in at a chunky 7oz.
I don't think they will actually float with all that iron-mongery but Jon says no matter, as the speed he will be whipping them back in at will keep them 'surfin'.. ha ha!
I'm just hoping I've got them tough enough, those beasts have a certain reputation.. but teeth-marks on a big fish lure, look cool I think!
