My pal, Jon (the swordfish bloke) is off there in January, so here are some temptresses for the Giant Trevally that he's after.
I've turned them from Beech instead of my usual Russian Pine.
For the technocrats; Beech has a weight of 720kg/m3, where Cedar (& Russian Pine) is around 390kg/m3, so considerably denser.
This is to withstand the severe beating we expect them to take from these fish (think aquatic pit-bull!). Seriously wired, epoxied & weighted to 'just' float, so they cast like bullets. They are 6.5" to 7.5" long & weigh approaching 3oz.
I just hope they stand up to the test.
